Legal Regulation of Biomedical Technologies in the Russian Federation

As a result of activizationof complex researches on the borders of legal sciences there is being formed a new branch –biomedical law, which is viewed in the context of medical law –a consensus between jurisprudence, medicine and ethics. A detailed characteristics of biotechnologies is provided as well as their legal regulation in the Russian Federation, necessity of legal base improvement by way of adopting special laws. Authors analyze international legal acts, which regulate grounds for the circulation of biomedical technologiesand ethical documents, which are also a vital component of the legal foundation of biomedicine’s regulation. Positive movements as regards to modernization of the laws of Russian Federation are highlighted; in particular such movements are connected with the future of biomedicine, namely draft federal law “On Donation of Organs, Parts of Human Organs and their transplantation”.
